1 whole organic chicken

1 cup Chinese Rice Wine

30 grams Huang Qi (astragalus)

30 grams Shan Yao (Chinese mountain yam)

10 grams Gou Qi Zi (Lycii berries)

10 grams Dang Gui (Chinese Angelica Seneisis)

5- 8 slices Sheng Jiang (fresh ginger)

Da Zao or Hong Zao (Chinese red dates)

Salt and Pepper to taste

Clean chicken removing excess fat. Place chicken in pot with herbs. Add 1 cup of rice wine and 3+ cups of water or chicken stock. Simmer on low heat for 2 hours. Remove fibrous herbs. Add a handful or two of Da Zao (Chinese red dates) and salt and peper to taste. Let simmer another 5-10 minutes. Enjoy.

To help tonify qi and restore blood, eat one small bowl of stewed chicken and herb broth daily .

*Avoid taking tonic herbs if you are suffering from a cold or infection.
